About Olivia Everitt
Olivia Everitt is a professional grant writer, project coordinator and workshop facilitator working across the arts, economic development and not-for-profit sectors since 2010. Currently based on Gubbi Gubbi country in Gympie (Queensland), Olivia is passionate about working with individuals and organisations to support impactful arts and economic development outcomes for communities across Australia.
Establishing her consultancy business in 2013, Olivia’s professional services include grant writing; project, strategic and cultural planning; event coordination; workshop facilitation; and community engagement. Olivia regularly delivers grant writing and other professional development workshops for artists and community groups across Queensland, and has assisted a diverse range of clients attract over $10.5 million in grant funding and sponsorship since 2017.
Professional Experience
Olivia’s career has also included roles at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Cairns Regional Council, South Burnett CTC, Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) and Blackbutt Avocado Festival. Most recently, Olivia has joined the team at Motor Neurone Disease Australia (MND Australia) as Grants Coordinator in September 2023. Olivia is also a current Peer Grants Assessor with Creative Australia and Regional Arts Australia.
During Olivia’s four years at Cairns Regional Council, she worked as part of the Cultural Planning team on the development of Council's five-year cultural plan (Strategy for Culture and the Arts 2022) and also as the Assistant Program Coordinator and Acting Assistant Curator, supporting the Tanks Arts Centre performing and visual arts programs and the Cairns Children's Festival. As Curator of Public Programs at QUT’s Creative Industries Precinct, Olivia developed and delivered over 180 public programs which included artist and curator’s talks, exhibition tours, education and professional development programs, networking events and community art projects.
Qualifications & Awards
Olivia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) from Deakin University. Olivia’s academic achievements and service to the arts and cultural sector have been recognised through a number of awards, including Creative Woman of the Year (2021 - QRRRWN) and South Burnett Senior Cultural Award (2021 - South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day Awards). On completion of her postgraduate studies, Olivia was acknowledged on the Dean's Merit List and awarded the Best Graduate (Master of Business, Arts and Cultural Management) in 2022.
