Artist Biography Writing Workshops
An artist biography is an essential promotional tool for artists, performers and creative practitioners of any discipline. In these 3-hour, hands-on facilitated workshop sessions, Olivia will guide you through:
• The key ingredients of an artist's biography, including useful templates, resources and case studies
• The differences between artist bios, artist statements and artist CVs
• Creating different versions of your biography
• Other promotional tools to accompany your biography
Workshop participants will create a draft artist biography during the workshop and receive feedback. Your artist bio can then be used for exhibition proposals, residency applications, grant funding submissions, online promotions, festival programs and more.
During each workshop session, participants also have a professional headshot taken by a professional photographer, local to the host community. This professional portrait can be used to promote you and your arts practice across your social media profiles and website, for media releases and more.
This workshop program is suitable for artists of any discipline - visual art, performing arts, music, dance, literature, photography, videography, and more. Whether you’re looking to refresh your artist bio or write a biography for the first time, this workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and all stages of arts careers - early career or emerging artists, mid-career artists and established artists.
Upcoming workshops available for public registrations are listed below, or please contact Olivia to arrange a workshop in your region.
